Bally’s Corporation completes merger with UK based Gamesys Group
Ballys Corporation Completes Acquisition of Gamesys Group
The retail and online sports betting market in the US has never been more competitive. With major sports betting brands such as BetMGM, DraftKings, and FanDuel, lots of new platforms have started to appear, with one of the newest being Sports Illustrated’s sportsbook and MaximBet. It is no different in the iGaming world, with notable brands such as Golden Nugget fighting to win customers in the online casino sphere. With all of this competition, operators must go above and beyond to get ahead of the pack. Bally’s has looked to do just that after announcing a huge deal that will make people stand up and take notice.
Bally’s Completes Gamesys Deal
Bally’s Corporation has revealed it has officially completed its full acquisition of Gamesys Group plc. Gamesys is a global online betting operator based in the UK. The company employs 1,800 people and will now fall under the Bally’s Corporation umbrella. The major factors behind the acquisition were combining the two platforms’ player databases and utilizing Gamesys’ technology to develop into a more prominent omnichannel gaming company.
This deal is another sign that Bally’s is trying to get ahead in the betting world in addition to building on its own attempts to move ahead in sports betting and iGaming. The company has made massive strides to achieve that during the last year, and the acquisition of Gamesys will continue the upward trajectory. Gamesy looks after 2 US-facing brands already, Virgin Online Casino and Tropica online casino.
Bally Bet Sportsbook
The Bally Bet sportsbook app provided by Bally’s has proven to be a success since it was first introduced. Currently, the app is only available in two states, Iowa and Colorado. However, that will change soon. The operator is keen to muscle in on the popular sports betting app market and will be launching the Bally’s bet app in more states in the coming months.
The sportsbook markets its social aspects to stand out from the other sportsbooks available. For example, you can follow your friends as you would on a social media site and even challenge them to bet with the app. Many industry analysts will be following the growth of the Bally Bet app closely to see how this acquisition affects things.
