Bally’s becomes official gaming operator for MLB
Bally’s has signed a deal to become an authorized gaming operator for the MLB
As preseason begins to draw to a close and the opening day on April 1 is quickly approaching, Major League Baseball has a new gaming operator on board. Bally’s Corporation revealed on Thursday that it has agreed to a multi-year deal to be an authorized gaming operator of the MLB, the world’s biggest baseball league.
As per the terms of the agreement, Bally’s will instantly receive access to official league and team marks, logos, and data. According to a press release, the company intends to use these assets as part of its growing portfolio of sports betting products. Additionally, Bally’s will also include these as part of a content strategy to target MLB fans. This content will be integrated into live MLB game coverage, which covers 19 regional sports networks. This coverage accounts for more than half of the U.S. MLB teams.
George Papanier, president and chief executive officer of Bally’s Corp, expanded on what the agreement between the two companies means. He said it “offers exciting benefits for baseball fans nationwide.” He said Bally’s were “honored” to be linked with “America’s national pastime” and said the overriding feeling was excitement as they look to provide “an innovative and engaging sports betting experience.” As with baseball fans from all corners of the globe, Papanier declared that “we can’t wait for the season to begin.”
Bally’s Expands Partnership Portfolio
This latest deal means that Bally’s now has three sports betting agreements in place. In addition to the contract with the MLB, Bally’s previously announced similar arrangements with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Hockey League (NHL).
Kenny Gersh, MLB’s executive vice president for gaming, said that as they prepare for the 2021 season, announcing a new partnership with Bally’s will provide their fans with “et another unique avenue to engage with baseball.” He said that Bally’s has experience of providing entertainment for sports fans across the country. Consequently, they “look forward to collaborating on new ways of engaging fans around our games.”
Bally’s owns and operates 11 casinos across seven states in addition to a racetrack and 13 authorized OTB licenses in Colorado. The new MLB season kicks off on April Fool’s Day with a packed schedule of 1 5 games.
