BetMGM Now Accepting Bets in Pennsylvania

BetMGM Sportsbook and its mobile betting app are now live in Pennsylvania.
Online casino and sports betting operator BetMGM revealed last week that it had launched its sports betting platform and BetMGM mobile app in Pennsylvania. Bettors in the Keystone State can now benefit from numerous sports markets and bet types on the platform, including MGM Resorts’ rewards program. The news marks another milestone in the company’s long-term strategy of expanding its presence in sports betting jurisdictions across the country.
Adam Greenblatt, CEO, BetMGM, said that the response to the recently launched BetMGM casino in Pennsylvania has been “incredible” and that the brand is “thrilled to bring our best-in-class sports betting offering to the Keystone State.”
BetMGM online casino offers players classic games such as roulette, blackjack, and video poker, in addition to thousands of slots. Additionally, the BetMGM games library features a vast array of slot tournaments and slot tournaments exclusive to Pennsylvania, which adds an authentic feel to the online gaming experience.
Greenblatt added that Pennsylvania is well-known for its “legendary sports fans” and that the company is excited to bring the BetMGM sports app to them. The casino has been available to PA online casino players for a little over 2 weeks, with the sportsbook launching this past week.
MGM Continues Expansion
After initially planning to enter the PA gaming market as a qualified gaming entity (QGE), BetMGM changed its strategy to pursue full operator status. The company decided this would be the best course of action as it means they can offer a full iGaming experience of sports betting, online casino, and poker.
BetMGM received approval for its platform in October. Following this, in December, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approved a sports betting license for Hollywood Casino Morgantown. This is a mini-casino project slated to open in 2021, which is being managed by Penn National.
As BetMGM casino inked a partnership deal with Penn’s Hollywood Casino, it is no surprise that a sports betting partnership has also been confirmed. Penn was required to pay an additional $10 million for the extra license because Barstool Sportsbook has already claimed their Hollywood sports betting license. A BetMGM poker room is expected to join the PA market in the next few months.
With Pennsylvania now ticked off the list, BetMGM has online gambling products live in the following states:
- Pennsylvania
- New Jersey
- Nevada
- Indiana
- Tennessee
- Colorado
- West Virginia
- Michigan
The BetMGM app was officially launched in Pennsylvania on December 18. This followed a successful soft launch the day before, where all necessary checks and tests were completed.
BetMGM is currently offering all new players a $500 matched bet bonus when joining at betmgm.com.
