BetRivers Names Official Partner of New Orleans Pelicans

Rush Street Interactive revealed on Tuesday that its BetRivers Louisiana Sportsbook product had been named the official sports wagering partner of the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans.

Louisiana Sports Betting off to Strong Start

The deal comes not long after mobile sports betting in Louisiana launched on January 28. On that opening weekend, the Bayou State saw 3.4 million transactions occur. That weekend also featured the NFC and AFC championship games in the NFL playoffs.

As part of the agreement, BetRivers signage will be seen BetRivers signage will be seen throughout the Smoothie King Center, home of the Pelicans, including the front row of courtside seats. At the venue, the Chairman’s Club, which is exclusive to courtside ticket holders, has been re-named as the BetRivers Chairman Lounge and features live odds boards.

Richard Schwartz, CEO of RSI, said that the partnership with the Pelicans and the new BetRivers Chairman Lounge will “enhance fans’ watching and wagering experiences inside the Smoothie King Center.” Schwartz added that this agreement also emphasizes their commitment to Louisiana sports throughout the state.” Schwarz was keen to stress that the RSI is “thrilled” to be operating their BetRivers sportsbook in Louisiana and be named an official partner of the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Pelicans are 10th in the Western Conference standings after getting off to a disappointing 3-16 start. New reports were released on Tuesday stating that they had traded for C.J. McCollum from Portland as they look to make a playoff run.

New Orleans is currently priced at +24000 on the NBA Futures odds at Caesars Louisiana Sportsbook.

Dennis Lauscha, president of the Pelicans, said that Louisiana and New Orleans is home to “some of the most passionate sports fans in the country.” Lauscha added that it was important for them to partner with an online sportsbook like BetRivers that “delivers the high-quality experience that these fans expect and deserve.”
