Butler Bulldogs at Georgetown Hoyas Betting Preview
The college basketball season has been electric so far. Teams have been jockeying all season long for the top position in the NCAA.

There’s been a lot of turmoil this year in basketball, and that makes it one of the best seasons we have had in recent memory.
The Big East has come alive to be one of the most formidable conferences in the country. Ever since the remodeling of the conference, it has struggled to keep up.
That has all changed. Tuesday night will showcase a Big East matchup between the No. 16 Butler Bulldogs and the Georgetown Hoyas.
Butler remains one of the best teams in the country and will put itself up against an explosive Georgetown offense. Let’s break down the matchup.
The Best Defense In College Basketball
The name of the game for these Bulldogs is their defense, and what a lock-down unit that they are in this college basketball season.
Butler is holding its opponents to under 60 points per game, and that is one of the best defensive numbers in the country.
These Bulldogs are in your face constantly and pressure the ball unlike any other team in the country.
While their defense is spectacular, I think the slow-paced, methodical offense that the Bulldogs play acts as a great antithesis to the way basketball is headed.
Granted, Butler still takes a lot of threes, but overall, the Bulldogs play at their pace and have been able to be consistent as one of the best teams in the country.
The player to watch out for is senior guard Kamar Baldwin, who is Butler’s leading scorer and is really the centerpiece for everything that it tries to do.
Besides being the leading scorer, Baldwin is really the heart and soul of this basketball team. There’s a lot to love with this team, and Georgetown is going to have its hands full trying to stop it.
Can Run-And-Gun Take Down Butler?
Georgetown is overmatched in this game. Its team just isn’t as good, but it has a couple of things going for it.
For starters, the Hoyas are on their home court, which can benefit any team in any situation.
Second, they have one of the fastest paces in the Big East and all of the NCAA. The Hoyas average almost 80 points per game.
When it comes to this game, something is going to have to give. Georgetown can use this upbeat style of play to try and dictate the pace and get Butler out of its rhythm.
Shaking the Bulldogs out of their methodical offense is going to be a tall task to ask out of Georgetown.
Mac McClung is the spark plug that this Georgetown team can use to keep the pace high. McClung doesn’t have one of the best field-goal percentages in the NCAA, but he sure does put up numbers.
Averaging 16 points per game as a sophomore is no joke, and McClung is ready to leave his mark on the Big East.
It will be an uphill battle for Georgetown to take down the Bulldogs, but it has the recipe to make it happen.
As great as Georgetown can be when it is at its best, I still think Butler is going to be to dictate the pace of this game easily and frustrate the Georgetown players.
Playing at its own speed is what Butler is all about, and it makes it look so easy when it is on the floor.
By the looks of it, Georgetown is favored in this contest at -1, but I’m taking the Bulldogs in this matchup.
