Caesars Entertainment revealed on Thursday that the Cleveland Cavaliers had become their latest sports betting partner.
Deal Details
The multi-year partnership features plans to launch a retail sportsbook on the street level of the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, a multi-purpose arena that hosts the Cavaliers games. The sportsbook will be located inside the Northwest Atrium.
Chris Holdren, Co-President of Caesars Digital, said they are “ready to welcome Ohio sports fans into the Caesars Sportsbook Empire.” Holdren added that the company is excited to make history with their second NBA arena. Holdren mentioned that they are keen to build on their already established roots with Scioto Downs in Columbus. They are thrilled to announce the deal with the Cavaliers “at an exciting time in their franchise’s history.”
Holdren said that as they prepare to launch sports wagering in Ohio later this year, the partnership will enable them to connect “with the Cavs’ passionate and highly engaged fanbase.”
The Caesars Sportsbook at Rocket Mortage FieldHouse will combine custom VIP and hospitality experiences for Caesars Rewards members, will feature on-site activations throughout the year, and also provide betting kiosks.
The 10,365 square foot venue will also include a VIP lounge, wall-to-wall TVs, an extensive menu, and a full-service bar. Both Caesars and the Cavaliers will pay for the costs of the renovations. Caesars sportsbook will be open all year at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on both event and non-event days for fans who have tickets to events and anybody without tickets who want to place their bets.
The sportsbook is expected to open its doors by the end of 2022, pending regulatory and other necessary approvals. As part of the agreement, Caesars Sportsbook gains access to the use of Cleveland Cavaliers market access, including broadcast and digital content across Cavs properties, logos, marks, and TV-visible in-game signage.
