Caesars Partners with Louisiana State University Athletics
Caesars Entertainment has struck a landmark deal with LSU Athletics.
Louisiana State University is entering the exciting and increasingly crowded sports betting partnership business. Caesars Entertainment has revealed it signed a deal to become an official sportsbook partner of LSU Athletics. The agreement was put together by LSU’s third-party multimedia rights holder, Playfly Sports. It will focus on fan engagement opportunities and unique alumni in addition to expanding responsible gaming and education. Sports betting hasn’t been legalized in Louisiana, but that could change soon.
Chris Holdren, Co-President of Caesars Digital, said that the athletics programs that LSU runs “have always exemplified excellence.” He added that Caesars “couldn’t be happier to partner” with an iconic brand in the world of college athletics. Holdren stated that they are aware they have a proud legacy in Louisiana and that bringing the LSU fans and alumni closer to the sports they love will “help us build upon that.”
As per the terms of the partnership, Caesars gain naming rights for the Caesars Sportsbook Skyline Club at Tiger Stadium. Additionally, there will be Caesar’s signage spread across Tiger Stadium as well as the Alex Box Stadium (baseball) and Maravich Assembly Center (home of LSU basketball). Caesars will also have a presence on the LSU Sports Mobile App.
Caesars Sportsbook will also have digital and broadcast sponsorship rights for all 21 LSU men’s and women’s sports schemes. Caesars sports betting site customers will have the opportunity to attend LSU athletic events complete with VIP hospitality treatment at Tiger Stadium via Caesars Rewards.
LSU Athletics Director Scott Woodward said that LSU has always taken pride in giving fans “unique, innovative, and world-class experiences.” Woodward said their new partnership with Caesars would expand upon those promises. Woodward stated that both entities “share a clear vision of how athletics and entertainment can come together” to improve the fan experience, and they are excited to see the vision become a reality.
Caesars to Advance Responsible Gaming & Scholarship
During the announcement, Caesars was keen to stress that it is committed to not marketing to students or fans under 21. The operator will also create an annual scholarship fund to help and aid Louisiana-resident LSU students. The fund will help students pursuing majors in commerce, leadership, and sports administration.
Michael Schreiber, Founder & CEO of Playfly Sports, said they are focused on “creating innovative partnerships to engage sponsors” and deliver new revenue sources. Schreiber stated that due to the interest in gaming, they are excited to “bring Caesars Sportsbook and LSU together.”
The launch of legal sports betting in the Pelican State remains pending. During a recent Louisiana Gaming Control Board meeting, Board Chair Ronnie Johns said that some good news is coming soon.
Once sports betting is launched in Louisiana, residents can use Caesars Sportsbook and other Louisiana sports betting apps.
