Circa Sportsbook now live Iowa
Circa Sportsbook Launches in Iowa
The Circa Sports brand is now live in Iowa. Wild Rose Casinos & Resort revealed it has agreed to a deal with Circa Sports to offer another Iowa sports betting option in the state. Residents of the Hawkeye State and now register and use the Circa Sports betting app to place their wagers.
Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens said they are “thrilled” to expand the Circa sports betting brand to Iowa and the Midwest. Stevens confirmed that Iowa marks the third state of operation for their mobile app and that they “appreciated the collaboration with Wild Rose and Iowa Racing” for making the launch to fruition.
Iowa is the first Midwest state Circa Sports has entered. The betting app provides bettors with a comprehensive odds menu, including live odds anywhere in the state. Circa Sports claims to offer a genuinely responsive customer support service, the lowest hold percentages, and the highest limits. The types of bets available include moneylines, futures, parlays, and totals. Deposit and withdrawal options include ACH, wire transfer, and sightline.
Circa Sports launched in 2019 and operates in five locations in southern Nevada. Its retail sportsbook in the Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas is advertised as the “largest sports betting experience in the world.” In addition to its mobile app now available in Iowa and Nevada, Circa Sports also offers sports betting in Colorado.
Iowa Sports Betting Handle Increases in August
Iowa experienced four consecutive months of lower sports betting handles before things improved in August. According to numbers posted by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, the Hawkeye State had an August handle of $108.4 million. This was a 21.9% increase from July’s $88.9 million. The total posted in July was the first time since November 2020 that the handle was less than $100 million.
The impressive online numbers in Iowa make it an attractive location for Circa to launch its sports betting offering. Mobile wagering made up most of the overall market in August, totaling $96.1 million of the handle, a jump of 23.3% from July’s $77.9 million.
The figures in August were aided by the return of preseason NFL betting in addition to the start of college football betting. The numbers will likely increase in Iowa as the regular NFL season is now in full swing.
