DraftKings named as official NHL sports betting partner
DraftKings has been named as the Sports Betting Partner of the NHL
Sportsbook partnerships are becoming more widespread in professional sports. As the popularity of sports wagering continues to rise, professional teams and leagues have begun to agree to deals with different sports betting platforms. A couple of years ago, William Hill announced they had secured an agreement with the Washington Wizards that included a retail sportsbook inside Capital One Arena. Additionally, the NFL announced groundbreaking partnerships with several sportsbooks before the football season kicked off, including PointsBet, WynnBET, and BetMGM. Now, another significant sports league has struck a deal with one of the biggest betting brands in the market.
NHL & DraftKings Sign Deal
The National Hockey League has a new sports betting partner. It has recently been revealed that the NHL will welcome DraftKings as an official iGaming, sports betting, and daily fantasy sports partner of the organization. Betway became a betting partner of the NHL back in May, and it’s a trend that looks set to continue.
The partnership has been designed to benefit both parties, as DraftKings will get access to team assets to improve the experience for bettors. The two will also collaborate on exclusive promotions and sweepstakes. As the partnership develops, the NHL will look to see viewing numbers increase as users monitor their wagers.
The deal doesn’t end with just the NHL. DraftKings has also inked deals with Turner Sports, one of the networks assigned to cover the NHL season. DraftKings will act as the official daily fantasy sports and sports betting partner during the network’s NHL coverage. As part of the terms of the deal, DraftKings will also have links with the popular sports website Bleacher Report.
More DraftKings Promotions will appear
If you are a regular user of the DraftKings sportsbook or app, you will know that the bonuses and promotions tend to be focused on football, baseball, and basketball. The site didn’t offer much of note for the official start of the NHL season, instead choosing to focus on other sports or more generic promos.
Rival sportsbooks went much heavier on the first day of the NHL. For example, Caesars Sportsbook offered a $50 free bet if you wagered on the first two matchups. With the partnership in its infancy, bettors can expect a raft of new, improved hockey promos from DraftKings Sportsbook.
