FanDuel and IGT expand U.S. partnership
International Game Technology PLC (IGT) and FanDuel Group already collaborate on numerous retail and online sportsbooks across nine U.S. states.
Together, IGT and FanDuel currently operate the highest-volume brick-and-mortar sportsbook in the U.S. at Meadowlands Racing in New Jersey, as well as Valley Forge Casino, one of the top-volume retail sportsbooks in Pennsylvania.
The new partnership, signed August 3, extends the agreement and provides for IGT technology to power all current and future FanDuel retail sports betting sites in the U.S. through 2024.
The agreement also grants additional access rights to IGT’s popular PlayCasino slots and table games to FanDuel online casinos in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The gaming giants inked their original deal in 2018.
Since then, IGT and FanDuel opened land-based sportsbooks in new legal sports betting markets in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Mississippi.
The pair also launched online sportsbooks in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and Colorado. In addition, IGT currently provides more than 200 self-service kiosks to retail FanDuel sports betting locations.
FanDuel Group CEO Matt King said that IGT’s technology has been integral to the company’s expansion efforts so far, and the new partnership will continue to build on that success in future endeavors.
“IGT is the strategic partner that we will lean on to help us expand our retail footprint across the U.S.,” King said.
“IGT’s PlaySports platform enables us to create an intuitive, technologically driven customer experience at our world-class retail sportsbooks for our customers.”
IGT games to give FanDuel online casino a boost
IGT game studios have been producing top-performing casino games to the iGaming market since the dawn of the Internet, including slots, progressive jackpots, table games, video poker, and more.
Classic IGT GameKing video poker varietals are a casino standard, an overwhelming fan favorite, and feature some of the highest return-to-player ratios in the business.
FanDuel’s online casino library already includes some IGT titles, including Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme, Triple Red Hot 7s, and Red Hot Tamales.
Adding more IGT fan favorites to FanDuel’s game collection – such as Davinci Diamonds, Cleopatra, 100,000 Pyramid, and Siberian Storm – will help leverage the company in already saturated online casino markets in the Garden and Keystone states, as well as create a strategic boost in upcoming expansion efforts.
Five game studios under the IGT umbrella convert top-performing land-based games into a digital format, according to IGT’s website, and also develop exclusive games specifically for the online and mobile app format.
Developers use HTML5 code, which means that IGT games are compatible with a wide variety of online platforms, including web browser for PC and Mac, and mobile app for Apple iOS and Android devices and tablets.
IGT PlayDigital Senior Vice President Enrico Drago said that the renewed agreement serves to position both IGT and FanDuel for future success.
“We are committed to fueling FanDuel Sportsbooks’ sustained growth through our proven, market-ready platform, player-preferred game content, and self-service betting technologies,” Drago said.
