FanDuel signs exclusive betting partnership Jordan Spieth
FanDuel has agreed a multi-year sports betting partnership with pro golfer Jordan Spieth
Sports betting operator FanDuel has announced it has entered a multi-year partnership with golfing star and three-time major winner Jordan Spieth. Spieth, who hails from Texas, will appear in the sportsbook’s TV ads as part of the deal. Additionally, FanDuel will also be the exclusive sports wagering and daily fantasy provider for Spieth, who will also be the face of the sportsbook’s golf wagering products.
Spieth said he is “incredibly excited” about what is happening in the sports betting space as it continues to grow and expand across the United States. Spieth added that this deal has the potential to bring new fans to the sport of golf. Spieth stated as the PGA Tour and others involved in the golfing community have embraced legalized sports betting, he is looking forward to working alongside FanDuel “to find unique ways to engage the fast-growing fanbase.”
FanDuel Chief Marketing Officer Mike Raffensperger described Spieth as “one of the most universally admired golfers at the top of his game.” Raffensperger added that Spieth is a “perfect fit for our first official golf partner and the face of golf at FanDuel.”

Spieth emerged as one of the stars of the Pro Tour when at the age of 19, he became the youngest golfer to win a PGA tournament in 82 years at the John Deere Classic. He followed this up by claiming three majors, including the 2017 British Open. The success then dried up for four years until he ended his drought by winning the Valero Texas Open near San Antonio last April.
Waiting for Texas Legalization
Spieth, who was born in Dallas and still lives there, has claimed another victory in Texas, winning the Dean & DeLuca Invitational in Forth Worth in 2016. He is immensely popular in the Lone Star State. One of the reasons for this is his charity, the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, which does a lot of work in the local community.
If sports betting is legalized in Texas, which cannot happen until 2023 at the earliest, it will become one of the nation’s biggest markets. This could explain why several sportsbooks are teaming up with athletes and teams with Texas ties. FanDuel has existing partnerships with former Houston Rockets Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith. Additionally, rival company DraftKings recently bought Golden Nugget Online Gaming from Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta.
