Sports Data Company Genuis Sports signs deal with Betsul Sportsbook
One of the most prominent online sportsbooks in Latin America, Betsul has agreed to a deal with sports data company, Genius Sports for access to their technology, data, and broadcast solutions.
Deal Details
According to a Genius Sports press release, Betsul will benefit from the full range of Genius Sports’ “data-driven outsourced solutions”, including Live Trading, PreMatch, and Risk. Genius Sports will provide Betsul with complete flexibility over the whole sportsbook operation, which will help “maximize turnover, margins, and control.”
Betsul customers will also have access to Genius Sports’ wide portfolio of Brazilian sports content such as “pin-point pricing” and live streaming of basketball, football, volleyball, futsal, and beach volleyball. This agreement will include longtime Genius Sports partners including the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV), Brazilian National Basketball League (LNB), Liga Nacional de Futsal, and numerous others.
Both Betsul and Genius Sports have stated their intentions to work with each other in the Brazilian market. Excerpts from their press release ay that gaming consultancy, H2 Gambling Capital, predicted that Brazil’s revenue in the sports betting market should reach $1 billion by 2026.
Betsul Background
Betsul is a market-leading online sportsbook in Brazil that offers several different wagering options ranging from popular Brazilian leagues to the English Premier League, American football, boxing, and tennis.
They also operate a lottery, where Brazilians can buy virtual lottery tickets. Vibra Gaming owns and operates Betsul and works solely in Brazil. Bettors must be 18 or older to participate.
Status of Betting in Brazil
Brazil’s Secretariat of Evaluation, Planning, Energy, and Lottery has announced the latest set of rules and regulations for sports betting operators and sports bettors.
Under the new rules, Brazil’s Ministry of Economy will regulate the market. The ministry will provide a deadline for operators to purchase the five-year licenses, which will likely be over the next few months. Upon the deadline, operators will have to pay up to $22.2 million BRL (equivalent to $4.4 million USD) to launch.
