Kindred Brings its Unibet-Branded Sportsbook to PA
The Kindred Group and their flagship brand Unibet took on its second US market in the space of one month, when launching in Pennsylvania last Thursday.
Just three weeks after launching a sports betting app in New Jersey, Kindred has officially opened the doors on its retail sportsbook in neighboring Pennsylvania, through a deal with the Mohego Sun Pocono land-based casino.
The property is owned and operated by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, the casino resort business of Connecticut’s Mohegan Tribe, who joined forces with Kindred earlier this year.
Under the terms of the deal, Kindred has agreed to manage the casino’s retail and digital sports betting operations, with the latter anticipated to launch later this year.
“We are excited and proud to partner with Mohegan Sun Pocono to welcome patrons to our new Sportsbook and offer a great extension to our online product in one of the largest states to regulate both online sports betting and casino. We wanted a strong partner who shares our dedication to customer experience and values, and we know that together we will offer Pennsylvanians a truly unmatched in-house and soon-to-come online sports betting and casino experience,” said Manuel Stan, Senior Vice President at Kindred US.
Aviram Alroy, Vice President of Interactive Gaming at Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, stated: “We’ve aligned with one of the world’s best online casino and sportsbook operators in online regulated markets, which will allow us to offer a best in class experience to our current clients and attract new fans. Introduction of the Unibet offering to the market is a great positive for Mohegan Sun, as well as the State of Pennsylvania.”
The Unibet Sportsbook is powered by Kambi, an international B2B provider of premium sports betting services with which Unibet already partners all over the world for the same service, and betting offerings include NFL, NCAA, NHL, NBA, PGA, professional tennis, boxing, UFC, rugby, NASCAR, MLS, Premier League Soccer, La Liga and Bundesliga.
According to the Mohegan Sun Pocono website, the Unibet sportsbook is 1,130 square foot in size and features a high definition video wall, seating, a full-service bar and six betting terminals.
Kindred making steps to cement itself in the U.S. gambling space
Kindred already boasts a strong presence in multiple European regulated markets and made its US debut earlier this year with the launch of an online casino in New Jersey, through a partnership with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City. Gambling is really hotting up across the states as we reported a few weeks ago – NJ and PA Report Staggering Growth in Gambling Revenues
It’s New Jersey Unibet sports betting app launched on September 10th with Hard Rock again as its land-based partner and Kambi as its software supplier, thus becoming the 17th online sports betting site in the Garden State.
Anyone with the casino app already downloaded to their phone is able to use the sportsbook straight away without re-registering, since they share the same wallet and logins.
That ability to easily jump from slots to sports without switching usernames makes the Unibet app particularly appealing to bettors.
We’re expecting more of the same when Unibet launches its sportsbook and signature casino online in Pennsylvania later this year, with the integrated app available via Android and Apple mobile devices – we’ll be sure to keep you posted on that.
