Surely the conference championships cannot top the level of football that we have had thus far, but these teams are the best of the best.
Some of the top offenses in the league are left standing in this final four, and these teams are licking their chops at a chance for a trip down to Miami for the Super Bowl.
On the NFC side, the top seeds took care of business at home in the divisional round, so we will see the Green Bay Packers head west to take on the San Francisco 49ers.
This will be a great quarterback matchup between Aaron Rodgers and Jimmy Garoppolo. Let’s break down the matchup between these two teams.
Is Rodgers Still Elite?
The theme for Green Bay for much of the last decade was the lack of help that Rodgers had behind him.
Whether it was the coaching staff, the running backs or the defense, everyone else seemed to be at fault when the Packers could not get it done.
In any case, the opposite is true this year, as Rodgers has weapons all over the field and a defense that is able to get stops.
The Packers’ defense was able to get an assist from Seattle’s receivers in the divisional round, as they dropped multiple balls in some of the biggest moments.
But defense is defense, and the Packers have spent a lot of capital on that side of the ball to improve, and it is showing.
Rodgers is still as deadly as ever, and there is absolutely no way he could ever be counted out in any big game. His accuracy looks crisp, and his hookups with Davante Adams has been a nightmare for defenses to cover.
San Francisco The Most Complete Team
San Francisco came out in its matchup against Minnesota and did not miss a beat. The 49ers looked eager to play and came out to score right away.
While they do not have the flashiest players in the league, the Niners really are well put together. They even got Kwon Alexander back at linebacker to bolster their defense.
Richard Sherman made more big plays against Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, and Jimmy G looked well above average for all he’s been doing.
His interception was really the only blemish on a great night as a game manager. He finished 11 of 19 for 131 yards and one touchdown and really let his running backs take over.
That running back trio will be the key to the 49ers’ offensive flow against Green Bay. Tevin Coleman will lead the way, with Raheem Mostert and Matt Brieda making impact plays behind him.
The 49ers are bursting onto the scene faster than anyone expected them to do so, but Jimmy G will have the troops ready to go for a trip to the Super Bowl.
Both of these teams are truly the best of the best in the NFC. That usually goes without saying since they are the top two seeds, but they really have been at the top all season.
When these two teams met in the regular season, the Niners dominated Green Bay for four quarters. San Francisco draws a strong favorite in this one at -7.5.
Even though I think the 49ers are the most complete team, I am going with Green Bay in this one. Rodgers began last decade with a Super Bowl, and I think he will do the same here.
Take Green Bay in this one, and make sure to tune in on Sunday!
