NFL Playoff Field Set
The National Football League was able to navigate through an entire 17-week regular season without any game cancellations.
There were several changes made to the schedule along the way, but all of the regular-season matchups were played on time.
The NFL has expanded the playoffs for the 2020 season, and there will be seven teams from each conference in the field. Only the top seed from each conference will earn a first-round bye, meaning there will be three games in each conference in the opening round.
The three division winners outside of the top seed will host first-round games, and the three Wild Card teams will be on the road. The top overall seed in each conference will then face the lowest remaining seed in the next round.
In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs have earned the top overall seed with a 14-2 record. Kansas City is the defending Super Bowl champion, and it will be off this weekend.
The AFC East champion Buffalo Bills earned the number two seed in the AFC. The Bills will host the Indianapolis Colts, who earned a Wild Card berth out of the AFC South.
Buffalo went 13-3 during the regular season, while the Indianapolis Colts bring an 11-5 record into the postseason.
The 12-4 Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the 11-5 Cleveland Browns in the 3-6 matchup in the AFC Playoffs. These two teams split their two games during the regular season, with the Browns earning a win in Week 17.
The 4-5 matchup in the AFC is expected to be one of the best games of the weekend as it is a rematch of a 2020 NFL playoff game. The AFC South champion Tennessee Titans will host the Baltimore Ravens out of the AFC North.
Tennessee earned an upset win over the Baltimore Ravens a season ago, knocking out the number one seed in the AFC en route to a berth in the AFC Championship Game.
NFC Playoff Field
The Green Bay Packers have earned the top overall seed in the NFC, finishing the year with a 13-3 record. The NFC North champions will get the first round of the playoffs off while waiting for an opponent to visit Lambeau Field.
The number two seed in the NFC is the New Orleans Saints, and they will host the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon. New Orleans finished with a 12-4 record, while the Chicago Bears earned a Wild Card spot with an 8-8 record.
The NFC West champion, the Seattle Seahawks, earned the number three seed in the NFC, giving them a game at home in the first round. Seattle will take on the Los Angeles Rams, and this will be the third meeting between the division rivals this season.
The 7-9 Washington Football Team will host the 11-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the other NFC first-round game. Washington was able to win the NFC East, while Tampa Bay advanced to the playoffs as a Wild Card team.
