The Baltimore Ravens locked in the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC last weekend, so word has already come out that the team will rest a number of starters, including quarterback Lamar Jackson.
They will be welcoming the Pittsburgh Steelers to town, as the Steelers are still fighting to stay alive for the last AFC Wild Card playoff spot.
Pittsburgh is hurting on offense, but it might be able to get lucky if the Ravens rest the right players.
From Bad To Worse
The Steelers have been struggling to find the right quarterback all season long, and it really showed itself in a crazy way on Sunday.
They started the game with Devlin Hodges, who looked horrible for almost the entirety of the first half.
For the last drive of the first half, the Steelers brought in Mason Rudolph, who led them down the field for a touchdown. Rudolph ended up taking a big hit in the second half and landed on his shoulder wrong.
So with that, Rudolph was out the rest of the game, and coach Mike Tomlin went back to Hodges.
As you have been able to see all season long, the Steelers have struggled to put points up on the board consistently. Pittsburgh has ridden its defense all season long, but if the offense can’t score, then it does not really matter.
This is the type of defense that can carry the Steelers to victories, but they need more than field goals from the offense.
Hodges is going to have to grow up real fast to have a chance against this Ravens defense on the road.
Life Is Good
The Ravens have one blemish on this whole season, and it was an ugly Week 4 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
They finally got a chance to get their revenge on Sunday, as they absolutely annihilated the Browns.
It took them a long time to get going until Jackson threw for over 100 yards and two touchdowns in the final two minutes before halftime.
With that, Mark Ingram strained his calf in this game and did not end up returning. He will definitely be sitting for this game.
It is unclear yet who is going to be resting for the Ravens as they don’t really have much to play for with the No. 1 seed locked up in the AFC.
The road to the Super Bowl will go through Baltimore, and teams this postseason are going to have a tough time trying to take down the giant.
With Jackson and others out of this game, I still think that the Ravens with Robert Griffin III spell trouble for the Steelers. There is just far too much talent on that roster.
Due to the likelihood of resting, the Ravens are only drawing a -1 favorite in this game at home. The Ravens are able to coast, but I think the players that play will have their foot on the gas for this game.
The Steelers have a tough time putting any points on the scoreboard, so in all likelihood, this game could be a defensive showcase, and the Ravens should be able to come up with the W.
With that being said, I think the Ravens will take care of business in this game and get themselves ready for the postseason push. Make sure you lock in your bets before kickoff!
Happy Holidays to all our visitors and readers. We hope you had an amazing 2019 and here is to 2020! Now where is my beer!
