PlayUp Sports App Goes Live in Colorado
The PlayUp sports betting app is now live in Colorado.
Australian-based operator PlayUp has successfully launched its online sports betting app in Colorado following a soft launch last week. The Centennial State is the first U.S. market for PlayUp to operate in, and the timing is absolutely perfect. It is the middle of college basketball conference tournaments season and the NCAA Tournament, otherwise known as ‘March Madness,’ gets underway on March 18, with selection Sunday occurring on March 14. PlayUp gained market access into the Colorado sports betting market via a ten-year agreement with Bull Durham Saloon and Casino in Black Hawk.
The gaming company now has New Jersey in its sights, as the Garden State is a hub of gambling activity. Naturally, they want a slice of the pie. Dr. Laila Mintas, CEO of PlayUp, described how the company has “developed cutting edge technology platforms for daily fantasy, fixed odds betting and esports.” She added that their “premium offerings” will enable them to compete for a large part of the consumer base “in a way that we feel will make us a very strong brand.”
Mintas wanted to stress that their slogan “your best bet” is “very authentic as we will be very aggressive on pricing,” expressing that she believes PlayUp will offer “the best odds in the market.” She confirmed that the app would offer “150+ different sports including eSports betting, that sports fans can bet on.”
In conjunction with the launch on Monday, PlayUp is offering each new customer in Colorado a $20 no-deposit free bet and a decent 200% bonus on first deposit. Mintas said the company selected Colorado as the first U.S state to launch in “as we believe it has great potential” and that the state’s population, which is almost 6 million people, “traditionally love sports.” Mintas believes that the sports betting market in Colorado could potentially be worth $300 million. In these pandemic times, Mintas said that as they are an online-only brand, “our products are very scalable, also in times of social distancing.”
Colorado Sports Betting Market an excellent place to start
The Colorado sports betting market is rapidly growing. Following the launch of its betting market in May 2020, it has set handle records each month. In January, Colorado posted total sports handle above $300 million for the first time. The January handle of $326.9 million increased the total in the Centennial State past $1.5 billion in sports bets taken since it launched.
Additionally, another piece of good news for online sportsbook PlayUp is that mobile betting accounts for most of the handle in Colorado. Approximately 98% of the total wagers in January, around $319.4 million, were from customers online.
