PointsBet Sportsbook goes live in Virginia
PointsBet Sportsbook Launches in Virginia
After getting the green light to launch in Virginia, PointsBet, the Australian-based sports betting company, has announced that the PointsBet mobile app has launched. The announcement was made in conjunction with Colonial Downs Group, LLC., the operator of Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums across the state. The launch means the sports betting mobile app is now available in eight states. Including Virginia, the list also includes Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, and West Virginia.
PointsBet Ambassador Allen Iverson Promotes App
The launch is the result of numerous events. This includes the partnership with Colonial Downs Group, LLC and a deal agreed in August 2020 with NBC Sports network. Additionally, a deal was agreed in October 2020 with Genius Sports to supply live streaming on events and data for bettors to make live wagers.
PointsBet brand ambassador Allen Iverson said he is “excited to welcome PointsBet to my home state.” Iverson added that speed and agility were a massive part of his game, and that is “what puts PointsBet above the rest.” Iverson mentioned the in-play and real-time options available on the app and encouraged people to join him on PointsBet.
New Customer offer in Virginia
As PointsBet launches in the state, the operator confirmed that it would provide a new player offer unique to Virginia players. This promotion is a “Bet & Get” offer across five tiers. Throughout these tiers, new users will earn 10% of their total wagers in free bets during December.
Tier one of the offer states that $500 in cumulative wagers will earn a $50 free bet. This goes up to tier five, which is $10,000 n cumulative wagers earning you a $1,000 free bet.
As you move up the tiers, you will get the credit within 24 hours, PointsBet noted.
Colonial Downs Group Chief Operating Officer Aaron Gomes said that they are “proud” to partner with PointsBet, describing them as “a premier sports betting platform” and of the best operators in the nation. Gomes added that they are pleased to help bring this option to their customers and other bettors in Virginia.
