It’s finally back. The nation’s favorite pastime has returned for the 2023 season, and with each team scheduled for at least 162 games, it’s time to get to work for teams, players, and sports bettors alike.
Though with so many games, it’s essential that you pick the right sports betting site to sign up with to get maximum value. How do you do that? Well, you could sign up for every US sports betting site to see what promos they offer, which markets they cover, and how they balance their betting lines. However, if you’re planning on going down that road, you’re looking at spending a couple of weeks full of solid 8-hour days hunched over your computer reading nothing but stats and spreadsheets.
It’s an option. Though why do the research yourself when a couple of the major league fanatics of our expert team (myself included) have already done it throughout the decades we’ve been betting baseball? And that’s not all. Because in this guide, not only will we be revealing the very best MLB betting sites, but we’ll also be giving away the best bets to make for both beginners and experts alike.

#1 FanDuel Sportsbook — Best Overall Baseball Betting Site
FanDuel sportsbook launched in the US on September 1st, 2018. While perhaps best known for their $1,000 No Sweat First Bet bonus, FanDuel has remained a favorite among serious MLB sports bettors due to their regular MLB bonuses.
✅The Good
- Regular MLB specific promotions
- Wide variety of banking methods
- Available in 19 states
- Great $1,000 No Sweat First Bet welcome bonus
- Stats tell you how other users are betting
- Can watch games live via the FanDuel app
❌The Bad
- Most markets don’t open till late
FanDuel MLB Bonuses 5/5
The FanDuel sports betting MLB welcome bonus is their $1,000 No Sweat First Bet. With this FanDuel No Sweat First Bet bonus, if your first bet loses, you’ll be given a 100% refund in the form of bonus bets with a max value of $1,000.
Outside of the FanDuel sportsbook welcome bonus, you’ll also find regular site-wide promotions like their referral bonus as well as a couple of MLB specific bonuses. These bonuses will typically award bonus bets, though you can also earn profit boosts tokens to boost the odds on future bets. Further, when it’s time for the World Series, you can look forward to bonuses that you won’t find anywhere else.
No one does MLB bonuses like FanDuel. They’re suited for all budgets, and frequent MLB specific promos mean you’ll regularly get more bang for your buck. For these reasons, I’ve got to give them a perfect 5/5 in this category.
FanDuel MLB App Review 4.7/5
The FanDuel sports betting app is among the best for MLB betting. The interface is easy to use whether you’re on your desktop or mobile. Additionally, you’ll not only have access to pretty much all the markets that you’d expect like moneyline, spread, over/under, and player prop bets — but you’ll also be able to see how other players are betting.
While this isn’t a fail-safe way of betting, it can be helpful to see how your bets align with other players’ bets.
Banking is easy at FanDuel. All the popular deposit and withdrawal methods are available, plus FanDuel is one of the few MLB betting sites that accept Venmo. Additionally, the vig charged by FanDuel is very fair, though it is a little too high to be excellent. Because of this, I give the FanDuel sports betting app for baseball a 4.7/5.
FanDuel Baseball Betting Unique Features 5/5
When betting major league baseball with FanDuel, you can look forward to many unique features. Unlike other online sportsbooks which may prioritize their bonuses towards NBA, NHL, or NFL bettors — it’s clear that FanDuel wants to be the very best baseball betting site. On top of loads of unique MLB bonuses, you can also stream selected MLB games live via the FanDuel sportsbook app and FanDuel+ platform.
FanDuel always has MLB bettors in mind — offering features that no other sites have. Because of this, I think it’s clear that FanDuel scores a perfect 5/5 in this category.
No Sweat First Bet Up To $1,000
- Convenient banking
- Massive choice of sports
#2 DraftKings Sportsbook — Best For Unique MLB Bets
When DraftKings first started in 2012 as a daily fantasy sports league, the first competition they offered was their one-on-one baseball competition. Since then, DraftKings has evolved to become more than a DFS app. Though it’s clear that while their overall business structure may have changed — their love of baseball still remains as strong as ever.
✅The Good
- Great for SGPs
- Features MLB specific promotions
- Good odds
- Offers unique bet types
- Legal in 21 states
- DraftKings Pick ‘Em Pool blends DFS with sports betting
❌The Bad
- Welcome bonus isn’t great
DraftKings MLB Bonuses 4.8/5
When it comes to MLB bonuses, DraftKings is arguably the best — perhaps matched only by FanDuel. They offer regular same game parlay bonuses, free bets, and a couple of DraftKings specific bet types with fantastic odds. While they don’t have the variety of bonuses that FanDuel offers, they do match them in quantity — and between the two of them, you should be able to get a bonus on most matches that you bet on.
I’m also a big fan of the DraftKings referral bonus, which gives you and a friend $50 in bonus bets on the DraftKings sportsbook + $50 in casino credit (if applicable) when you refer a friend. One thing I’m not a fan of though is their welcome bonus. It’s a 20% deposit match with a max value of $1,000. It’s got some really tricky requirements to meet to get the max value. But with that being said, if ever there was a sport to be able to meet these playthrough requirements while still betting responsibly, it’s got to be baseball with their ~90 MLB games played per week.
Because of all the above — I think a 4.8/5 is fair in this category.
Up To $1,000 Deposit Bonus
- The best sportsbook
- Amazing odds & offers
- Awesome betting app
DraftKings MLB App Review 5/5
Having been a customer of DraftKings since they first opened their DFS to the public, I’m a massive fan of the DraftKings app. For mobile use especially, I’d say DraftKings is #1. The site is straightforward to use, and their stats page becomes increasingly more helpful as the season goes on.
I especially love how they’ve combined their DFS with their sports betting app to bring sportsbook pools where you compete directly with other players to climb the leaderboard and win cash prizes.
The vig charged at DraftKings is excellent. They’re one of the few sites that regularly works in less than 4% juice on all their bets. Because of this, I’d say DraftKings has easily both one of the best baseball betting sites and lowest vig online sportsbooks around, and they’re very deserving of a perfect 5/5 in this category.
DraftKings Baseball Betting Unique Features 4.5/5
Because of their long-standing partnership with Major League Baseball, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that DraftKings has a few unique features for baseball. The best of these are undoubtedly the previously mentioned unique MLB specific bonuses and bets. If you’re watching the game live while using the DraftKings app as a companion to keep track of live odds, then the DraftKings baseball unique features are perfect.
However, if you’re on the go and looking for a single app where you can watch the game and keep track of live odds — DraftKings does fall a little short of other apps. There’s no live streaming, nor is there even the graphical interface that many of the other top MLB betting sites have. So while the unique bonuses and bets make DraftKings great for betting with — in-game, they do fall a little short of other apps. Because of this, it’s a 4.5/5 for DraftKings baseball in this category.
#3 PointsBet — Best for New MLB Sports Bettors
PointsBet has a weird relationship with baseball. On the surface, it can look vastly inferior compared to other sites that have focused more on baseball, but for new sports bettors especially, PointsBet has made itself one of the best MLB betting sites for US players.
✅The Good
- Welcome bonus is excellent for cautious sports bettors
- Mobile app is great for betting baseball on the go
- Live cashout is available on all MLB bets
- Great for new sports bettors
❌The Bad
- Does not offer many markets
- Baseball does feel like an afterthought on this site
PointsBet MLB Bonuses 4.8/5
There are no PointsBet MLB bonuses. While that certainly is a weakness that PointsBet could improve on, I think the general PointsBet welcome bonus is one of the very best for new players — especially those on a budget. The PointsBet welcome is five $50 second chance bets.
With this bonus, if you lose your first bet of each day, you’ll get up to $50 returned to you as a bonus bet.
The weakness of this bonus is that you get one of these second chance bets on each of your first five days — and if you don’t use it, you lose it. With most sports, this would be an issue. But with their being a baseball game pretty much every day, this welcome bonus is almost tailor-made for MLB sports bettors and is arguably the very best welcome bonus for new baseball sports bettors.
So while PointsBet doesn’t have any MLB bonus, their welcome bonus acts as a PointsBet baseball bonus. Because of this, I’d give PointsBet a firm 4.8/5 in this category.
PointsBet MLB App Review 4.2/5
The PointsBet MLB app is simple but good. There are no bells and whistles — though given that I would recommend PointsBet mainly to newcomers, I’d say that’s a good thing. Live cashout is available on nearly all MLB bets. Plus, the mobile app’s streamlined betting process is great for live baseball betting or betting just before the game.
The weaknesses of PointsBet baseball is mainly to do with betting markets. There aren’t as many on offer as other MLB betting sites, and most don’t open till late. Further, the baseball odds aren’t always the greatest. Overall, I’d give PointsBet a 4.2 in this category.
PointsBet Baseball Betting Unique Features 4/5
It can feel that baseball is a bit of an afterthought when it comes to PointsBet baseball betting. There aren’t too many unique features. The in-game stats are pretty decent, making it a perfect secondary way to watch the game, and while they have these features for other sports — I think it really benefits the stop-start nature of baseball. The only other baseball unique feature would be the previously welcome bonus.
While the bonus isn’t a specific PointsBet MLB welcome bonus, it does feel like it’s at its strongest when used by an MLB sports bettor. Overall, I’d give PointsBet a 4/5 in this category.
5 x $50 Second Chance Bets
- Awesome live betting
- Multiple bet types
- Huge range of sports & markets
#4 BetMGM Sportsbook — Best For Alternate Baseball Odds
In some ways, BetMGM can be one of the best MLB betting sites — while in others, they can be downright mediocre. I’d never suggest BetMGM as a one-stop shop for baseball betting, but if you’re open to the idea of signing up to multiple sites, BetMGM can become an invaluable part of your sports betting arsenal.
✅The Good
- Has a tendency to offer odds different from other sportsbooks
- Legal in 22 states
- Great interface
- $1,000 First bet offer is really good
❌The Bad
- Odds are mediocre
BetMGM MLB Bonuses 4.6/5
BetMGM has a first bet offer that will pay you back up to $1,000 in bonus bets if your first bet doesn’t win when you use our bonus code GAMBLEUSA. It’s a great bonus, and it’s not the only bonus BetMGM offers.
You’ll also find similar baseball specific bonuses for betting on particular games. Albeit, these bonuses don’t come around quite as often as they do on DraftKings & FanDuel. The sportsbook also offers BetMGM referral bonuses, as well as for regularly betting with them via their MGM Rewards program.
There’s nothing overly spectacular with BetMGM’s baseball bonuses. Though when you combine them all, there’s plenty to go around. Here, I give BetMGM a 4.6/5.
Up To $1,000 In Bonus Bets
- Promo Code: GAMBLEUSA
- Super fast payouts
- Live streaming
BetMGM MLB App Review 3.9/5
The BetMGM online sportsbook is where its main strengths and weaknesses lie. To start with the good, BetMGM is the most likely betting site to provide MLB betting odds most different from other sites. So if you’re planning on using multiple MLB betting sites, BetMGM is a must to include.
Unfortunately, I’ve found that on average, BetMGM charges the most vig compared to other sites on this list. It’s not horrible. And it beats out other sites that haven’t made this list. Though when you compare it with the best of the best MLB sportsbooks, BetMGM does fall a bit short when comparing MLB betting lines.
Outside of those points, the BetMGM betting site and app are good. It’s easy to navigate, and any promotions will always be easily visible. BetMGM sportsbook is available in 22 states.
If you plan to use multiple MLB betting sites, BetMGM is excellent. However, if you’re only planning on signing up for one — higher vig does lose BetMGM baseball a few points, and for that reason, I’d give them a 3.9/5 here.
BetMGM Baseball Betting Unique Features 4.4/5
If you’re a fan of parlays, you can look forward to frequent MLB promoted parlays with superior odds. Outside of this, if you’re on the go, the live stats page of BetMGM is the next best thing to watching the game live and is perfect for live betting.
BetMGM doesn’t really favor one sport over another. So while the site is overall great for baseball betting, there’s nothing besides a few baseball specific promos that could be considered unique BetMGM MLB features. Because of this, I give BetMGM a 4.4/5 here.
#5 BetRivers Sportsbook — Best For Low Vig Baseball Betting
BetRivers may be #5 on this list, but don’t let that trick you into thinking that BetRivers isn’t one of the very best baseball betting sites. Few bonuses might make it look unappealing on the surface. Though for experienced baseball bettors, great odds in all games more than make up for it.
✅The Good
- Interactive interface is excellent for customized bets
- Offers consistently great odds
- In-depth game stats are great
- Suited towards experienced sports bettors
❌The Bad
- Bonuses aren’t the best
BetRivers MLB Bonuses 4/5
For new users who sign up with code SPORTS, you can look forward to an insured bet with a max value of $500. Elsewhere, you’ll find the standard bonuses that you’ll find on all the best baseball betting sites, like a referral bonus and the BetRivers iRush rewards program. Though for baseball specific bonuses, there aren’t too many.
Overall, it’s a little disappointing. BetRivers bonuses certainly stand out from the wider crowd, but when compared to the top MLB betting sites, they do tend to lag behind. For that reason, I give them a 4/5
BetRivers MLB App Review 4.9/5
The BetRivers MLB betting site is really where BetRivers shines. They have the lowest vig of all the sites we’ve covered — even beating out DraftKings. Even better, you get access to an up-to-date injury list for both teams, plus some really helpful player and team stats. When it comes to placing a bet, their easy to use interface makes it simple to customize bet types like run line and total runs.
I’m also a big fan of their tips section, which provides relevant sports betting tips and shows you the up to date odds. It can feel a bit like an impulse purchase at times. However, for experienced bettors, it can help you bump up your odds for your game parlay.
For iOS users, the mobile app is also great. There have been reports by some Android users of a buggy app — though I personally have never experienced it. Overall, I give BetRivers the near-perfect score of 4.9/5.
BetRivers Baseball Betting Unique Features 3.8/5
BetRivers follows a similar code to BetMGM in that they don’t favor one sport over another. You do get access to the same live graphical interface that BetMGM and PointsBet have, which is great for keeping up with the game when you can’t watch it directly live. That’s about it though.
Baseball specific promos are infrequent. And while having some of the best Baseball odds is helpful, it’s not enough to give them anything more than a 3.8/5.
Up To $500 2nd Chance Bet
- Promo Code: SPORTS
- Regular promos & rewards
- Generous sign up bonus

Online MLB Betting Site Promo Codes
For new users, just about every sports betting site will have a welcome bonus that can be used as an MLB welcome bonus. These are usually “no sweat free bets” which will refund your first bet if it loses in the form of bonus bets.
However, you can also find occasional deposit match bonuses like the DraftKings welcome bonus.
For existing users, there are also baseball bonuses to look forward to. Again risk-free bets are the most common, but for loyal users, you can sometimes get MLB no deposit free bets on special occasions like your birthday. For ease of reading, in the table below we’ll cover the types of bonuses offered by each of the five best baseball betting sites.

Baseball Betting Sites Rating Process: Aspects To Look For
We tried to justify in detail why we assessed the above five sportsbooks as the best baseball betting sites. If you want a closer look in our process, here it is:
Proper Licensing for MLB Betting
Before 2018 the only way to bet on sports was with shady offshore illegal sites. These sites were full of scams and unfair odds — even if you ever managed to win any money, they weren’t legally obliged to pay you. Thankfully in 2023, this is no longer the case. Legal sports betting is now available in more than 30 states, and legitimate online sportsbooks can apply for licenses on a state level.
These licenses are difficult to get, but acquiring them is the only way for a baseball site to be certified as scam-free. That’s why when looking for the best baseball betting sites, we only consider sites that have proper licensing.
Baseball Bonuses
We all want more bang for our buck. And the best way to get it is through MLB bonuses that award you bonus funds or protect you against losses. These bonuses are always available to new customers, but we like to make sure that existing customers will also be taken care of.
That’s why we sign up to these sites and keep track of all the bonuses they’ve offered us. If a site gives frequent bonuses to existing customers, that’s good. However to get top marks from us in this guide, these bonuses must be baseball bonuses or at least available to be used in most MLB matches.

MLB Odds
In order for an MLB betting site to make money, they have to charge vig (sometimes called vigorish or juice). We understand this. However, this vig should never be over the top. That’s why our expert team checks multiple betting lines to ensure that a sportsbook’s vig is never excessive. What is excessive? For an MLB game, 5% + is too much. 4.5-5% is fair, though with room to improve, 4-4.5% is good, and anything less than 4% is excellent.
Banking Methods for Baseball Betting Sites
What good is a baseball betting site if you can’t get your money in and out of your account? That’s why we always check that all our recommended betting sites have a variety of deposit and withdrawal options to suit all sorts of customers.
Variety of MLB Bet Types
There’s no one correct way to bet on baseball. While some may prefer standard bets like moneyline, others enjoy player prop bets. Because of this, we like to make sure that betting sites offer multiple bet types, so no matter what you’re looking for, you can bet on it. If you’re not sure what the best bet types are, we’ll be covering the best baseball bet types for both new and experienced players in a later section.

Never placed a baseball bet online? Don’t worry, we’ll take you through the steps to get there.

- Using our secure links, navigate to the baseball betting site of your choice.
- Click the relevant button to register, usually found in the center or top right of your screen.

How to Deposit at MLB Betting Site
- Depending on which site you signed up with, this step will vary slightly. But either way, you’ll need to navigate to the cashier section and select “Deposit”.
- From here, you’ll be able to choose between any of the supported deposit types they offer. These will vary from site to site and from state to state. Once you’ve found the method you want to use, click it.
- Next up, enter the relevant details, choose how much you want to deposit, and click through the prompts.
- Most depositing methods are instant, and any deposited funds will appear directly in your account. Once they do, you’re ready to make your first bet.
Baseball Betting Types
Betting on baseball is different from betting on other sports. This is mainly due to the schedule of the MLB. 2,430 games + postseason means that it’s impractical to bet every game, or even the majority of games — instead, you want to cherry-pick the best games and markets with the best values.
There’s no easy way to do this. Study the schedule and wait till there’s a game where you have a lot of knowledge on both teams. Then check the markets to see the most profitable bet types.
Once you get more experienced, you’ll be able to analyze all the markets. For newcomers though, we’ll be going over some of the best types below.
Best Baseball Bets for Beginners
- Moneyline — Moneyline is the most basic bet type. Choose which of the two teams you think will win.
- Moneyline Listed Pitchers — This is the same as the above, though with a little insurance. Before the start of the game, both teams will have a listed pitcher who is most likely to start the game. If for whatever reason one of the listed pitchers doesn’t start, the bet will be scratched, and your stake will be returned to you.
- Spread — A little more advanced, a spread is like a moneyline bet — except now the teams have a handicap.
- Over/Under — With over/under, you don’t bet on either of the two teams to win. Instead, the sportsbook will display a certain number of runs, and you have to predict if you think the combined runs of both teams will be over or under the listed runs.
Betting Options for Baseball Experts
- Player Prop Bets — If you’re feeling confident about a particular player, you can bet on that player specifically. Common player prop bets are to manage a certain number of hits, home runs, or for pitchers to record a certain number of strikeouts.
- SGP — SGPs (Same Game Parlays) allow you to combine multiple bets that occur in a single game, into one big bet. These bets usually give massive odds, and many of the best MLB betting sites will boost SGP odds or give you other bonuses.
- First 3, 5, or 7 Innings — You can also make bets which only apply to the first few innings. So if you think a team will come out strong, these bets can help you capitalize on it.
- Parlays — Parlays allow you to combine bets over multiple games into a single bet. Like SGPs, this increases the odds — and many baseball betting sites will boost your odds even more or give you insurance if you take on a multi-legged parlay.
MLB Live Betting
Live betting is tricky and not something I recommend to beginners. With live betting, you can take advantage of odds changing on the fly to try and capitalize on the perfect moment to make your bet. It’s difficult to get right. But when you pick up on a momentum shift before anyone else, it can payout big.
How to place these Baseball Bets Online
No matter which of the above bets you want to place, if you are signed up with a site and have money – it is a walk in the park.
Simply find the game you would like to bet on, choose the odds, and enter the stake you are willing to make. The betting slip will display the expected win value, which will be adjusted if you are switching your stake or adding more games in the bet slip.
When ready, you can lock the bet and sit back waiting for the action. Live bets can only be placed during the baseball game, while cash out is a way to cut your losses or call a winning bet before the last inning.
Importance of Finding the Right Baseball Sports Betting Sites
Finding the right baseball sports betting site is crucial to trying to profit. If you’re brand new to baseball betting and want to take things slow — PointsBet is probably your best option with their x5 second chance bets. Though if you’re a bit more experienced, FanDuel, DraftKings, or BetRivers will be for you.
Of course the secret to coming out ahead is looking around for the best odds and the best bonuses currently on offer, and for that reason, the most experienced bettors tend to sign up with multiple sites. BetMGM by itself isn’t the best. But their alternate betting lines can provide a lot of value when combined with one of the heavy hitters like FanDuel or DraftKings.
Ultimately, it’s up to you. You shouldn’t sign up to every site straight off the bat; instead, you should consider what’s important to you and then sign up to the relevant site. Just make sure to use our links to get access to exclusive welcome bonuses.

These types of odds are called American betting odds. When betting on odds with a + sign, the number indicates how much profit you'll make on a winning bet if you place a $100 wager. With betting on odds that show a - sign, the number indicates how much you would need to bet to profit $100.
