Many of these games have been coming down to the wire, and it showcases how good this NFL season has been all together.
For our first divisional playoff game, we will watch the Tennessee Titans go on the road against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are rested and are the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Tennessee is fresh off a victory over the New England Patriots in Foxborough, where it may have ended the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick dynasty.
This game has the makings of a high-scoring affair, so let’s break down the matchup and determine the best bets.
Hottest Team In The NFL
The Titans were a hot sleeper. Many folks thought the Patriots offense did not stand a chance but were too afraid to pick against New England.
Tennessee was the perfect matchup against the Patriots’ defense. The Patriots rushing defense really struggled to contain the edges, and Derrick Henry was allowed to feast.
Henry had a drive in the second quarter where he accounted for all 75 yards and finished it off with a touchdown.
There was no way to stop Henry, who had over 30 carries for 182 yards rushing and over 200 yards from scrimmage overall.
The Titans can be slowed, and the Ravens have more of a brick wall up front to go against Henry. I just think Henry is poised for a big game, no matter the matchup. He led the NFL in rushing this season for a reason and really turned into one of the top players.
Ryan Tannehill looked okay for most of the game against New England. I like how he did not try to do too much, and he stuck to being a game manager. He has been as good as anybody and stands a chance in this matchup.
Does It Matter How Hot Tennessee Is?
We can talk all day about how Tennessee has come around and found itself as one of the best offenses in the league.
The problem is, the Titans are actually going against the best offense in the league in Baltimore. The Ravens have Lamar Jackson, who has been unstoppable all season long.
Jackson is a killer with Mark Ingram behind him (and it looks like Ingram will be healthy for this game). Jackson also has Mark Andrews at tight end and Hollywood Brown on the outside.
With weapons all over the place, it seems like it will be easy for the Ravens to put points on the board.
The Ravens defense has gotten progressively better all year. They can be a force to stop Henry, and I think if they focus their efforts on stopping Henry, then Tannehill will have a hard time out-dueling Jackson.
With their home crowd behind them, the Ravens are going to be a tough team to stop by anybody. Jackson is the man, and he is ready to show it on the biggest stage.
Tennessee comes into this game as a massive underdog. Being the top seed at home against the sixth seed, the Ravens are favored in this game at -9.5.
The Titans are hot going into this game. While I think it will be closer than most people think, the Ravens will still come out on top.
Take Baltimore in this matchup and be ready for Jackson and Ingram to run all over this Titans defense.
