The PGA Tour has named theScore Bet as a new official betting partner.

Score Media and Gaming Inc will be joining forces with the PGA Tour. On Tuesday, both companies revealed a multi-year agreement that will see theScore Bet become an official betting operator of the PGA Tour across the U.S. and Canada. Score Media is based in Toronto and has made great strides to expand its footprint in the U.S. in recent months. This announcement is timely, as one of the most significant events in the golfing calendar, The Masters, will take place from April 8-11 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.

TheScore becomes the fifth betting operator of the PGA Tour in the U.S. and the first betting operator of the Tour in Canada, according to a press release. Scott Warfield, VP of gaming at the PGA Tour, said that the Tour is focused “on engaging sports fans.” He described Score Media as “one of the global leaders in delivering highly personalized sports betting information.” Warfield added that utilizing theScore’s reach through the relationship “will allow the Tour to engage fans in unique and creative ways.”

As per the terms of the agreement, the PGA Tour will include daily odds updates from theScore Bet via the Tour’s live audio play-by-play. This will be released on the SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio and PGA Tour Digital platforms. Additionally, theScore Bet will gain the rights to advertise with the PGA Tour and its media partners. The betting company will also have the rights to access video content to improve its golf offerings on theScore and theScore Bet apps.

Aubrey Levy, senior VP of marketing and content for theScore, described the PGA Tour as an “innovative industry leader in sports betting.” Levy declared that they are “excited to collaborate” with the PGA and stated that the deal would “enhance our integrated media and betting experience.” Levy confirmed that one of the main reasons behind this agreement was that the PGA Tour “is a proponent of leveraging media to create unique betting experiences.” This, according to Levy, aligns with theScore Bet’s view for the potential of the Canadian market. Both theScore and theScore Bet app are available to download on iOS and Android devices.

PGA Tour Continues with Official Betting Operator Scheme

The PGA Tour has been busy getting its “Official Betting Operator” program off the ground. The scheme began when it announced a deal with DraftKings last July. The well-known gaming company became the first official sports betting operator of the Tour, expanding on an already established previous partnership agreement.

Following that, the Tour announced a multi-year deal with BetMGM Sportsbook in August. Also in August, the Tour welcomed PointsBet on board, which saw growth in 2020 with in-play live betting. Another big name in the U.S. betting industry, FanDuel, joined the PGA program in late August.
