Unibet goes live in Iowa with online site & mobile app
Unibet Sportsbook launches in Iowa, just in time for NFL Season
The Kindred Group has launched the Unibet mobile sportsbook in Iowa. The company revealed that it had entered its application for mobile sports betting in the Hawkeye State through an agreement with Harrah’s Council Bluffs Casino. The Kindred Group signed a multi-state partnership with Caesars last year, and this news marks the second launch as part of that agreement.
The 10-year agreement with sports betting operator Unibet comes with the option of extending for two additional five-year periods. Additionally, the launch came in time for the start of college football betting season, which began earlier this month. Iowa sports betting has proven to be a very popular market so far and should only improve when the new football season starts in just a few days.
Manuel Stan, SVP Kindred US, said they are excited to “expand our Midwest footprint via the multi-state agreement with Caesars.” Stan added that with this launch, they could now “bring a top sports betting offering to the Iowa customers.”
Stan stated that “Iowans’ passion for football is unparalleled” and said that they are optimistic they can bring an excellent product to the market in time for the beginning of the regular NFL season. However, it is not just pro football that excites Stan. In a press release, he mentioned the rivalry between the two home college teams, Cyclones, and Hawkeyes, in addition to the recent success of bordering state Kansas and the Chiefs appearing in the last two Super Bowls.
Unibet Continues to Expand
Iowa becomes the fifth state to welcome the Unibet Sportsbook. The book is also live in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Virginia.
The next state on the list is Arizona, where Unibet hopes to launch as sports betting is legalized in the state. If everything goes to plan, Arizona will become the sixth state to offer the Unibet mobile Sportsbook. The operator also has conditional market access in Illinois, Ohio, California, and three additional states.
Customers in Iowa can download the Unibet sportsbook app from both the Google Play Store and the Apple Store, or directly from the Unibet site at unibet.com.
Unibet is not the only new operator to the Iowa sports betting market. Fubo is another name that will be looking to go live in the hawkeye state, making it 14 live mobile operators. Fubo sportsbook will launch in the fourth quarter of 2021.
