William Hill Colorado launch
William Hill brings sports betting options to Colorado casinos, with mobile betting due soon
Sports betting giant William Hill has entered the gambling market in Colorado, launching their sports betting options at Caesars Entertainment’s Isle Casino Hotel and Lady Luck Casino in Black Hawk. The bookmaker will operator six kiosks across both casinos. The timing could be perfect with professional Baseball having returned with other significant sports to follow soon. This move marks a major milestone for both William Hill and Caesars Entertainment as they look to utilize their strong relationship by expanding their presence in other legalized US markets.
Two years ago, William Hill announced a partnership with Eldorado Resorts to bring sports wagering to Iowa. Eldorado operated both Isle Casino and Lady Luck Casino before the merger between Eldorado and Caesars, which led to the company operating under the Caesars brand name.
William Hill Make Move into Colorado
Initially, William Hill will have six sports betting kiosks at the two Colorado casinos. Players will have the ability to create a William Hill sports betting account, place sports wagers and make deposits using the kiosks. The bookmaker has revealed they will be offering odds “specifically for the Colorado market” as part of its offering in the Centennial State.
William Hill plans to launch their mobile sports betting options in Colorado before the NFL season is due to start in September. The company received its online sports betting license for Colorado in April.
The president of retail operations at William Hill US, David Grolman, stated the company is “thrilled to have the opportunity” to expand its operations in Colorado. He also keen to stress the importance of their relationship with Caesars Entertainment, claiming it gives them scope to e ngage with bettors in Colorado in fresh and exciting ways.
The casinos are equally as delighted with this move. Senior vice president and general manager of Isle Casino Hotel and Lady Luck Casino Black Hawk, Ken Ostempowski, has said this is excellent news. He feels the strategic partnership with William Hill will create a superior betting experience for Colorado players with top-quality gaming technology confirming their status as the number one location to gamble in Colorado.
Sports Betting History in Colorado
Sports betting was legalized in Colorado in 2019 following voters approving the measure through a referendum. Following the legalization of sports betting in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, bettors of Colorado can now sign up for online accounts as long as they are located within state lines. There are only three towns in the state that are allowed to offer in-person wagering.
At the time of writing, 25 online sports betting licenses have been issued, with most land-based sports betting operations. Colorado began easing restrictions in June following the shutdown of land-based casinos due to the pandemic. In conjunction with the casinos re-opening, the first sportsbooks in the state opened at two casinos in Black Hawk.
