Rush Street Interactive Secures Multi-State Market Access
Rush Street Interactive (RSI), the owner behind the popular BetRivers app, is expanding its footprint. On Tuesday, the company announced that it is bringing its mobile sports betting and online casino platforms to Ohio, Maryland, and Missouri.
RSI Signs Deal with Penn National Gaming
RSI revealed it has entered into an agreement with Penn National Gaming, allowing RSI the opportunity to offer its award-winning BetRivers.com real-money sports betting and online casino platform in Ohio, Maryland, and Missouri. The launch is subject to license availability, state law, and regulatory approvals.
Following the launch of the sites in each state, RSI will compensate Penn National with standard payments seen across the industry in exchange for market access.
Richard Schwartz, president of RSI, said they are pleased to get potential market access in three new states as they continue to “gain access and bring our best-in-class online gaming offerings” to critical markets across the United States. Schwartz added that adding Ohio, Maryland, and Missouri to their market portfolio “builds on RSI’s success in neighboring states” and will improve the marketing efficiencies for the etRivers.com brand.
Schwartz stated that they are constantly engaging in positive dialogue with industry participants, such as “tribal and commercial casinos and other stakeholders,” to continue to expand their presence into other states.
The deal with Penn National also provides RSI a right of first offer for a potential skin in Texas Via Penn National, subject to regulatory approvals and state law.
RSI is Established in other States
Currently, RSI operates regulated online gambling platforms in eight states, reaching a combined population of more than 68 million. These states include New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Indiana, Virginia, Michigan, Colorado, and Illinois. RSI also has existing market access deals for online gaming in West Virginia, New York, Maryland, Missouri, and Ohio. Through the agreements, RSI has the potential to access online gambling markets in over 35% of the U.S. population.
As well as its real-money sports betting and online casino offerings, RSI also has immersive social gaming features that provide customized retail betting services to in-casino sportsbooks.
