Unibet Casino app
Unibet are one of the largest and most popular online iGaming operators in the world. They have been running a successful online casino in Europe for over 10 years and have recently launched in New Jersey and now Pennsylvania (Nov 2019). Available on desktop and of course on dedicated apps for Android and the iPhone, we take a closer look at NJ & PA’s latest online casino offering.
The app lets you experience the thrill of the casino, anywhere in the Garden State. Our complete guide and review will tell you how to download the app, what features are available, the bonuses available to players, and of course, let you know if it is any good!
Please Note: As it stands, Google & the Google Play Store do not allow any real cash gambling or wagering apps to be available in the US store. To get the official, real money app, you need to download the Unibet Casino APK by following the instructions above and getting it via the mobile site.
The size of the app is very small for a complete casino so it only takes a few seconds to download on WiFi or 3G/4G. You can tell Unibet were keen to get this app to NJ & PA players as they launched the Android version before an iOS version. Operators usually choose an Apple over a robot, but not in this case. Currently (August 2019) you can only play real money games via the Android app and not via the browser, which is a strange move, but we think we know why. To play real money casino games in the Garden State or Pennsylvania, you need to be physically inside state boarders. It is a lot more expensive to add and use Geo locating software on a mobile browser, than it is using technology built in to a downloaded app. So if you want to play at Unibet casino, in the US, your option currently is only on the Android app, or on the browser version on a PC or Laptop. We are hoping this changes with the launch of the iPhone app and also a work around so you can play in the browser. Anyway…………make sure location services are turned on from your cell to confirm you are in NJ or PA. Just press Allow when it asks to view your location.
Before you can play, you need an account and it is easy to get that on the mobile site or normal website. Details you will need to register are:
- Cell phone number
- Last 4 of your Social Security number
- Date of birth
Registration takes around 5 minutes in total and is real easy to do, even on the mobile site. This app only supports a casino, there is no Sportsbook app for NJ players as part of this offering, but there is now a separate Unibet Sportsbook app which was launched in September 2019. This is Unibets first entry to the US market and they are looking to start as they mean to go on, and offer customers a first class mobile gambling experience. Have they been successful? We will take a close look……….
Unibet are registered and regulated by the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) in New Jersey, and also the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, so you are safe and legal to play in the stat as long as you are over 21 and in the State borders. You do not need to be a resident of New Jersey or Pennsylvania to join and play with the casino, you just need to be in state lines to wager your money and play.
Unibet Casino Mobile
As we touched on earlier, currently there is only an Android app from Unibet to play casino games on in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The iPhone version is due any minute now. We hope a browser based version also arrives quite soon as there are other casino apps that let you play in the browser, if you don’t want to download a dedicated app or wait for this one to be available.
In terms of offerings, there are around 250 games available in the catalog and that number is just going to grown. This is quite a large number but small compared to the offering in Europe where there are over 500 title. There are lots of popular titles including:
- All That Cash
- Angels Touch
- Big Spinner
- Cool Loot
- Crown Egypt
- Many more
Table Game types
- French Roulette
- American Roulette
There is a current lack of video poker on the app but we would expect this to be addressed in the next update. There is a much wider choice of games available on the desktop browser version of the platform
Who doesn’t love free money? Well no one right? Well join up to Unibet Casino US and you can get not 1, but 2 bonuses. The first is $25 Free Play with no deposit needed, the 2nd is a matched deposit bonus up to $500. To grab your free bonus, enter promo code UNIBET25 during registration at https://nj.unibet.com and you’ll find a nice $25 treat waiting for you in your account.
There are also several other promos available with the online casino, but only on the desktop version. We are hoping they make their way to the mobile app. In the meantime, you can view these on the app, via the menu and promo tab.
Game of the week – Play an exciting new game each week with a new bonus
Unibet are part of the Kindred Group, who have partnered up with Hard Rock International, who are the owners of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. Now, these guys know a thing or two about entertainment and you can see and feel that in the app. The design is really straight forward. It is not flashy, or in your face. Just well laid out and easy to use. We expect the iPhone version to be identical to the Android counterpart, they are in Europe so there is no reason to expect differently in New Jersey.
The main lobby is simple and splits games in to the following categories. Recommended, New, Slots, Table Games and All Games. There is a search facility in the menu on the left where you can search by title, rather than having to trek through the full list. In here you can also find a handy Get Started guide which will walk you through playing on the app, depositing, and playing. This isn’t really needed as the mobile casino app is very easy to use.
No less than 28 game providers are responsible for the titles available across the app and online, including some of the biggest and best developers such as SG Gaming, IGT, Microgaming, Williams Interactive and NetEnt. They are responsible for a lot of the top games across many online casinos.
Game play is slick as you would expect and the app is very responsive. During our hours of testing the various games, it didn’t freeze or crash once which is always a positive thing. There is a practice mode available if you do want to get used tot he games before playing with real cash. Selecting a title is easy. Just make sure you are signed in and have funds in your account before trying to play for money. A demo play is a really good option, with so much games choice it is important to try a few games before putting down your money. Get a good feel for the reels and game types. If you click on the title, you can see the Minimum & Maximum bet, the number or lines and reels, maximum payout and the Return To Player (RTP) percentage. There is also a small write up about the game for you to flick through too.
What could be improved on the app?
We get the feeling this isn’t the complete package yet from Unibet casino. We are missing a Live Casino, Poker access and a lot of games that are available on the European version and on the desktop site. Does the app feel a bit rushed to market? Yes and no. What is there works well but it is just missing something. We have to keep in mind it was only Launched back in June 2019 so it is still very early on and the developers will be constantly looking to improve the offering. We are also slightly bewildered at the lack of a VIP or loyalty program with the casino…….will they do one in the future? That we are not sure of but we would hope so.
There is a help center available on the app and normal website. Tap the small icon bubble in the bottom right of the screen to bring it up. Here you can search for the most asked questions and also access the live chat facility if you can’t find what you are looking for. If you would rather call there is a direct dial on the site and also an email, which you can get them on email@example.com
Cashier & Banking Options
We didn’t expect to see anything ground breaking here as most online casinos in NJ & PA (at least legal and regulated ones) all offer similar banking options.
