The Big Ten Conference football season begins on Friday night when the Illinois Fighting Illini…

The number of NJ Sportsbook apps is growing all the time, and for bettors in the Garden State who love to wager on Football, there’s certainly no lack of choice.
A couple of these – DraftKings and FanDuel – were able to launch in time for the big kickoff in 2018, and, at the latest count, there are now over 15 mobile sports betting platforms operating in the state, with more on the way.
Let’s lay down some criteria as to what we should all be looking for when choosing which New Jersey sportsbooks are the best when it comes to placing those football wagers.
Okay, now we’ve established some ground rules, we’re going to run through in detail those NJ online sportsbooks that meet our high standards, starting with a couple of industry heavies.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete rookie when it comes to football betting, this is one sportsbook that caters to all.
With no retail operation as such, they can divert all their attention into delivering a top-notch mobile betting platform and is backed by leading software company Kambi, certainly doesn’t harm in that respect.
It’s clean-looking, fast, and easy to navigate, although total beginners may need a little practice – help is at hand here with their handy ‘Sports Betting Guides‘ and a ‘How To Bet With Barkley’ (none other than NBA Hall of Famer and spokesperson, “Sir Charles”) feature.
A solid Live In-Game offering, Sportsbook Pools, frequent free bet offers, and a Refer A Friend scheme (currently $100 for takers) all combine to make DraftKings a fantastic choice for all your NFL mobile betting and college football wagers.
Oh, and there’s also the option to link your DFS account with your sportsbook account via a shared wallet.
Sounds good, eh? It gets better as new users are eligible for a first deposit bonus up to $500, and, in addition, they will get their first sportsbook to bet matched up to $200. (21+. T&Cs Apply). See the full DraftKings app review here.
While DraftKings enjoyed a month-long head start on the NJ sports betting field in 2018, they’ve since been joined and passed by top competitor FanDuel. And it’s easy to see why this book has become so popular with online bettors in the state.
The betting interface is just excellent and arguably the best of what is a good bunch so far, in our opinion. Its clean design, easy navigation, and speed are just what you need when betting on Football on your mobile, especially in-game when time is of the essence and odds are always changing.
Any help from a book to either boost winnings or ease the pain of a close loss is always appreciated and FanDuel’s ‘Parlay Insurance NJ‘, with up to $25 back if you hit all legs except one on parlays of 4+ legs in any sport, is nice insurance to have on your side.
There’s plenty more to recommend this book and not least their $500 risk-free bet for all new sportsbook customers in NJ – get up to a $500 refund in site credit if you lose your first bet. (21+. T&Cs Apply). Check out our full review of the FanDuel app for Android & iOS
When it comes to the ‘best of the rest’ in terms of NJ football sportsbooks, we have our favorites, and here are a couple more that we like, including their welcome offers. Need more info?
Originating from Australia but now based in NJ, they do things a little differently, and their PointsBetting is like chalk and cheese compared to fixed-odds betting in that your potential winnings or losses vary right up to the end of the game.
But we’d understand if that’s not your cup of tea and here’s the question: would we use them for our NFL and college Football fixed odds bets? Absolutely. Their app is a pleasure to use, and there are more daily promotions than you can throw a stick at.
We suggest you check these out for yourself, and if another sweetener were required, you’d be nuts not to take advantage of their welcome bonus – a $1000 (2 x $500) risk-free bet (21+. T&Cs Apply) – while you’re at it. Check out our full review of the Android and iPhone PointsBet app for more details.
Taking of sweet things, we also recommend you check out the guys at SugarHouse as we frequently use their sportsbook for our football wagers.
For good reasons too, as they probably have more payment options than most books, and betting options aren’t limited either – far from it! Furthermore, everything is easily accessible through their home lobby, as is their casino app, which houses a massive selection of table games and slots – all from the same account.
Their welcome bonus of a 100% first-time deposit match bonus of up to $250 is not the biggest out there, but who cares when it’s among the best in the Garden State in terms of wagering requirements – you need to play through the match bonus just once before you can withdraw. We’re not done with yet as there are four other NJ Sportsbooks that all bettors in the Garden State should consider when placing their football bets.

This UK-based operator invested heavily in Nevada, where they have 100+ sportsbooks, and that gave them a good grounding for their NJ launch in the fall of 2018. Fast, reliable, and easy to navigate, it’s a must-download for all football bettors.

Considering 888sport are one of the longest standing books on the net and have been fine-tuning and perfecting their mobile platform for almost 20 years, you’d expect their app to rock. And it doesn’t disappoint.

Another casino-branded sportsbook that now does plenty of things well and some things great, having looked very raw when first launched in 2018. The interface may not please everybody in terms of looks, but we like it.

One of the best casinos on the strip in Las Vegas for many years and now one of the best mobile sports betting platforms in NJ, in our opinion. We love the design of this safe and secure app, and navigation is a breeze, while there’s also the option to play at the casino using the same wallet.
