Barstool Sportsbook now available in Colorado
Barstool launches its new sports betting app in Colorado
The Barstool online sportsbook has officially launched in the Colorado sports betting market. The operator revealed on its Twitter account that the mobile app and sportsbook website went live just past noon local time on Monday. The Centennial State is the fifth jurisdiction to feature Barstool’s sportsbook. The online media company already has a presence in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. There are plans to launch in Virginia on August 10.
Currently, Barstool is running a special promotional offer for new customers in Colorado. Users can redeem $100 in free bets by using the sign-up code “YABO” and depositing before noon on August 12.
Barstool gained online sports betting market access in Colorado through its partnership with Ameristar Black Hawk Casino. The Ameristar also has a Barstool-branded retail sportsbook at its premises in Black Hawk. The retail sportsbook in Ameristar officially debuted in November 2020, and in doing so, became the first-ever Barstool retail sportsbook to launch.
Penn National Gaming President and CEO Jay Snowden said that they are “very excited to be opening the first Barstool Sportsbook” at Ameristar Black Hawk. Snowden added that this would be “the first of many new retail locations for Barstool Sportsbooks” at Penn National casinos across the country. Snowden said that each individual sportsbook will “incorporate several features that reflect the spirit of the Barstool Sports brand,” which means customers will encounter “unique sports betting experiences.”
Additionally, Barstool is also offering other promotions to mark the opening of its sportsbook in Colorado. New customers will be eligible for the “2 for 1 New Player Bonus.” If an opening bet loses, the player will receive an equal bet of up to $1,000. There is also a $10 welcome bonus for new registrations.
If you are a Denver Broncos fan, you are also in luck, as you can take advantage of some boosted odds from Barstool. Under the Colorado specials section, the Broncos’ moneyline odds for their opening game against the New York Jets have been boosted from –117 to +200. The odds for the Broncos to reach the playoffs have also been moved from +163 to +200.
Penn National Growing Barstool Brand
The Colorado launch is the latest action Penn National has taken with the Barstool brand. The company has also recently announced it has acquiring theScore, a Toronto-based digital media, and sports betting company, for approximately $2 billion in cash and stock.
Penn National also revealed that it plans to launch its online sportsbook in Tennessee, Arizona, and New Jersey this Fall, in addition to Virginia and Colorado. This means the Barstool sportsbook could potentially be live in ten states by the end of the year.
The Barstool brand will be live in other states by the end of 2021. Additionally, Penn National is planning for Barstool sports bars in Chicago and Philadelphia and a Barstool-branded live dealer studio in New Jersey. There are also plans in place to launch Barstool digital slots and table games.
Snowden stated that they are “making the most of what we built wider and deeper.” With the acquisition of theScore, Snowden now feels they have “two of the premier sports media brands in North America.”
